A few months back, we announced the launch of split window for Windows 10, which lets you put your contact list in one window, and each conversation you open in separate windows. You can now call and have up to 50 people in a call, all at once. It was a smooth install, like butter. The DVD is white color with black lettering on it. It says intended for distribution with a refurbished computer PC.
It includes Service Pack 1 on it, which it automatically installs. It is 64 bit. It comes in a clear plastic DVD case. It has a small piece of paper inside with the product key. If you have good eyesight no problem, otherwise you will need a magnifying glass to read it. Fortunately the install never even asked for the product key, it just installed without it. Based on how well it installed with no hassles I have to give it a 5 star review. My only problem was that after ordering it took about 4 days before they shipped.
Most Amazon prime ship pronto, but this took a little longer. Other than that, it was a nice purchase and I am very happy with the product. I got this for a good friend and although I've had a system running it for a couple of years now, it still surprises me how well the OS manages to install the correct drivers and other items most of the time on an install.
The system I was putting this on had had the HD removed as it was full of items that some one wanted to keep and didn't have time to copy them. It was a smooth installation without a single hiccup all.
After it finished Win 7 came up and was very solid with no problems I could see and was very stable. I noted that Win update got all the needed drivers and installed them without any problems. It even installed updates for the card slots and allocated drive letters for USB devices. Such as drives, etc. I checked these and they worked great for USB flash drives.
I was very happy with the total install. The only problem I ran into was with the printer drivers as I needed to use HP drivers due to the printer being an "all in one" and needed some OCR software. Overall, a very pleasant and speedily installation. One person found this helpful. Windows 7 offers too many improvements over its predecessor to list--certainly more than I would likely ever understand the relevance of.
The greatest thing to me about WIndows 7 is that it is cheaper than Windows 8, offers slightly BETTER performance in the arena of gaming, and most of all, Windows 7 users are eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10 later this year. If you play video games than this is the greatest news in quite some time. With DirectX 12 capabilities exclusive to Windows 10, gamers can expect an increase of fold in gaming efficiency.
That means a DX 12 game will look times better on hardware that you already have. The fact that an OS will improve graphics in gaming times better than an expensive new graphics card will is very exciting.
As far as games are concerned, gaming on an Apple OS is sort of a joke in terms of compatibility. Windows, in my household, is the standard of computer OS's. It skips the cuteness of Apple's OS and offers simple, accessible, user friendly operation.

I like the Wondows 8 format but the funcionality was just not good on this machine.
Downgrading to Wiondows 7 was, in this case, an Upgrade in perfoormance and functionality. Only thing was the lack of drivers for the older operating systems i. Only one school bopy error in that I proudly held the shiny new Windows 7 disc in my hand and realised that I had no CD drive to put it in.
Report abuse. Product key and software works as expected. A couple of thing to note though, when I first inserted my product key I had to activate it for my licence to take effect. This just meant ringing up microsoft and going through the automated service. Once that was done, it was fully activated.
Another thing to note, I was having trouble with updates, it would hang on searching for updates for what seemed like forever. I suspect this has something to do with the fact that Windows 7 being discontinued and maybe some patches needed to be downloaded manually.
After this though, I have constant updates automatically downloading and installing regularly so I have not had any problems since. Excellent product. Purchased for my dad so he could downgrade from windows 8 on his Lenovo PC.
The great thing about buying one of these is it just comes with the bare bones windows without any bloatware put on by the computer manufacturers. The first time I tried it I couldn't get windows 7 to load but after playing about in the bios settings with some internet help I managed to change the boot and it loaded perfectly.
Just a shame it wasn't as easy to downloaded the correct drivers from Lenovo as not all the correct drivers you need are available from windows update but got them in the end. An interesting point is that my sister has a friend who works in IT and he said these windows 7 discs don't work on windows 8 computers. He was wrong in my case as it works perfectly. Thanks to Amazon to a quick delivery and excellent product. However there is no support for the product and security is therefore an issue.
Note: There is debate about whether you can by an OEM version of the software even when it is sold legally by a UK firm and when the implication is that you are not fiddlig the licence.
Also, on sale will be English versions destined for non-UK If that is detected officially Microsoft seem to have the right or ability to hack your computer to check. You are not informed. This is known by illegal hackers who seem to then hunt for images and documents they can use to extort money from you. Go for the full licence and you can load it on to the next computer you build but one licence means one computer, for life check latest licence rules.
